Blocks

I use blocks under the stabilizing jacks and tongue jack. I don't like just throwing them in the pass through, pretty messy to do that.

The holder that I made for the 2 x 6 blocks is shown here. I made the 1/4" plywood spacers so the blocks will dry after a rain. The PVC pipe is glued in to the block that is mounted on the frame.

I like the idea thanks for sharing. As far as the cap, I would probably drill the blocks larger and just leave the cap on permanently.

Good idea. I'd personally go with steel and bolts over PVC and zip ties, but I like it. Thanks for sharing!

There really has been a lot of concern over my using the zip ties. Yes, they may not be UV rated but I have used them in other outdoor applications for many years with no breakage problems. The two on the trailer have traveled over 6000 miles in a year and a half without any sign of deterioration. I did add two new ones and will replace all 4 at the first sign of deterioration. I have plenty of these heavy duty zip ties in the trailer.

The only thing I have to watch is to not press the PVC cap on too much. It can be a bear to twist off. Actually the only reason that I use the cap is to keep rain out of the PVC pipe. Glad you folks liked the block idea. Post some photos of your new block installation.

I'll post some new DIY ideas when I have a chance.

Even better is to use the large radiator hose clamps.
They are stainless steel and will outlast the zip tys.

Excellent idea. I just pack mine in a milk crate in bed of truck.

I'd think the zip ties will certainly last a season. Give you time to decide if you definitely want to keep them there before making it permanent.:h

The white ties are not UV resistant and will break. I do like the concept.

Might want to rethink using those zip ties to secure platform.
Sun will make them brittle in no time......snap while in transit. Blocks/platform bouncing down highway--------YIKES!
Bolted to tongue or metal straps.

......or maybe 2 additional straps.
