I'm planning on a trip to Yellowstone NP this May 2024. I'd like to avoid "hairpin" curves. My plan is going east on Interstate 90 to Interstate 15. Then south to Spencer, ID, east to Kilgore then to campsite at Island Park, ID.  I will be pulling a 35' fifth wheel.  I'm looking for any suggestions.  I don't mind driving a couple extra hours to avoid "white knuckle" areas, even though I'm an experienced driver with my camper. ... Hello all, My wife and I are recently retired from the automotive repair industry after 40 years. We are Colorado natives and seen most of the attractions here. We live in Southwest Oregon and we LOVE the Oregon Coast! We have 2003 "SeeYa" Alfa 37' coach. It's in great shape runs good, I wash it all the time. Question IS!, I hear some parks frown on coaches older than ten years how strick are RV Parks on this? Hello Western Group, I'm curious to know if anyone here camps and rides off-road in the SoCal deserts? Our group has gotten older and people have moved away. We need to add some new families to our crew. We mostly ride side-by-sides, but we've had plenty of bikers and quads in our group over the years. My family used to be all bikes, but my wife and I switched to our side-by-side about five years ago and don't use the bikes much anymore. We had a great trip last weekend. Veterans Day is typically the kickoff time for our desert camping & riding season and this year's weather was perfect. We camped about 30 minutes out of Barstow, CA near Ft. Irwin. We were pretty close to an "interesting" spot called Tonka Town. It's hard to describe it with words, so I'll let the photos speak for themselves. One of the spots that we rode to is called Inscription Canyon, which is a narrow gully full of Native American petroglyphs. It's a shame that the signage only tells you not to disturb the area (good start) but doesn't give any history of the place. We ride to a lot of areas with petroglyphs, but this is the easiest to access and probably the most popular one. And here's our camp chair stealer enjoying the fire.        ... View more
