The chemicals and the sheet material.

I save the used ones from our clothes dryer and keep them in the RV.

Wet a dryer sheet, wipe and rinse.

Yes. By far the best solution I've found.
Agree - nothing beats a wet dryer sheet - and less than a penny a sheet. Try it, you'll like it.

3 DN,

No, I don't see a flaw at all in your process. Like I mentioned in the beginning, I use Sprayway Glass Cleaner.

I have to pull out my ladder as our coach is very tall with a large windshield. I use the spray with paper towels to wipe off the bugs.

Since I spray on a lot of Sprayway, my paper towels become very wet. I wipe down the whole front. As my paper towels are getting wetter and wetter, it works better. Once done, I will do a 'light' spray on the windshield to get the streaks off with a new set of dry paper towels as I really didn't wipe it dry from the beginning. The bugs come right off with minor effort.

I know that there will be a time that I will not get on a ladder, I'm OK right now. I will not get on the roof unless it's very, very, important.

Safe travels,
MM.

OK, today I cleaned the front of my new toy. Used the dryer sheets. Did a great job. However, my arthritic hands have trouble holding onto the sheets. I was thinking that the water softening ingredients (or wetting agents) would be the same with liquid fabric softener added to the wash water. Then I could use a wash mitt or brush. Anybody see a flaw in my thoughts?

Soak them down with hydrogen peroxide. It turns bug guts to a goo that wipes right off. The sooner you clean, the easier and quicker it is. Finish with a spray and wipe detailer or wax.

Donโ€™t use Pam as a protector. After a few days in the Florida sun, it will bake onto the paint. If you leave the bugs on any longer than a few days, they will pit the paint on the front of your vehicles. Very acidic. I clean them off every day with the same dryer sheet, a drying towel and a pot of water.

Totally Awesome from Dollar General, but the spray bottle (full) then a gallon to keep re-filling the bottle. also good to remove black streaks.

Looks like there are many methods to get the bugs off. The common thread seems to be moisture to soften the bugs and then wipe off.

Tom worked where he took care of many vehicles here in Florida. His method was to soak them down with water, wait a few minutes then use the normal car wash product. Said it was the best and easiest method.

years ago going through Lake Okeechobee area the windshield got so covered it was actually hard to see through. Stopped at a little crossroads store and they recommended Coca Cola to cut the mess. It works well.

The best thing that I have found is Spray Way aerosol cleaner. It's a foam type spray.

I clean the whole front of our coach every evening when traveling as I don't want the bugs to stay on too long.

You can find the spray at most stores including Walmart, Costco, etc. I keep 4-6 cans at all times in the coach. I swear by this stuff!

Safe travels!

There seems to be a few different Spray Way aerosol cleaners, which one are you referring to?

Oops, sorry, you're right, they make several types... :S

I use, 'Sprayway Glass Cleaner'.
