Turning on the fireplace everything is fine.

After about a minute the fan stops therefore no heat blowing out.

Any ideas what the problem/fix is??

Yes ours is VERY realistic LOOKING. The replacement unit has been perfect for almost 2 years now. We have the CheapHeat so we did NOT need the Dimplex, the wife REALLY wanted it.

Really? Haven't heard of MANY problems and this is the first issue for us.

A DRV owner posted a pic of the wood surround being burnt a couple years ago.

Quit using ours when it acted up. Sent info to DRV prior to our appointment. They had a new replacement waiting.

A Dimplex fireplace was an option we did not get on our new trailer. After the first season we got to thinking it would be nice to have one rather than getting out the space heater so I started researching electric fireplaces. I read everything I could find before shelling out $600 on such a frivolous item but we intend to use it a lot.
Overall, Dimplex gets the best reviews for realism and reliability in the market. They also get high marks for customer support.
I have indeed used it a lot this winter while doing mods on the tt.
We are very satisfied with it. It heats more quietly than any space heater we've ever used and the thermostat is spot-on.

Any product can have a failure but Dimplex certainly isn't an inherently poor product.

There is an instruction step by step on the Dimplex site to open the unit up and clean it. It collects a lot of dust due to the air it moves over time. I use high pressure air to blow it all off and the problem is solved. I have had to do this twice in 7.5 years of full time use (8 winters).

Tip: Take a picture or two of the wiring before you unplug. There aren't many to remove, but you sure want to put them back correct.

Will take a look...good idea on a pic.

Don't think so...you can turn the thermostat wheel and nothing really happens to change anything including fan speed.

Starting to wonder if it needs a good cleaning with all the dust we get in S. AZ.
