Chicot or Crooked Creek

Due to unfortunate circumstances, we will be headed to Pine Prairie, LA for a memorial service. Since this is a 3 hr drive and a 4 day weekend for me, i am planning on making a weekend out of it for me and my 4 boys.

Question is, Crooked Creek campground is the closest to Pine Prairie. Has anyone been there lately? How was it? I have camped a Chicot state park which is also nearby, but we have never been to Crooked Creek. Would I be better off staying at Chicot?

BayouBoys, Sorry to hear of your loss. Have many relatives in Pine Prarrie and Turkey Creek. I have several cousins that camp at Crooked Creek and love the park.... but I don’t know any specifics. We’ll be spending some time there in the spring. Chicot is a little closer, and is supposed to be nice... but haven’t stayed there either.

Crooked Creek is a lot like north landing camp ground at Chicot park but with no hills. Cant go wrong with ether. The Creek does have full hook ups in 1 part.
