"The trailer may have been too heavy"

I thought this was interesting from an RVer's point of view. Can't tell if it's a TT or a cargo trailer from the photo. Teton Pass is steep, with 11% grades in places, but I think I would have noticed something wrong before my TV caught fire...

Nah... they will buy him part of a new truck.

Maybe even before that. Didn't Columbus have trouble getting insurance for his trip across that Atlantic ?

Last week I was driving home from work in Phoenix on the freeway and smelled gasoline. I had the AC on recirculate and could still smell it. Saw the 2014+ Escalade next to me spewing gasoline onto the rear of the drivers front tire. Tried for 2 miles to get his? (Dark windows) attention and finally gave up.
Might be another burned spot on the freeway now.

About 3/4 of a new truck usually and maybe not even that depending on if he was upside down and by how much. Then again he may have had "new car replacement" or whatever his insurance company of choice calls it. Then, if he can get around the verbiage and jump over the hurdles, they may buy him a new truck.

Its not unlike "accident forgiveness". Give that a try its great. Sure they dont raise your "rate" or drop you. Just wait until the next renewal and see what you pay when you lose discounts such as accident free and safe driver. They forgive you and technically the rate doesnt go up, but the loss of the discounts results in about a 30% increase.

Too many geezers, self appointed moderators, experts, and disappearing posts for me. Enjoy. How many times can the same thing be rehashed over and over?

Hard to tell if this was a diesel, but if it was, maybe the DPF was doing a regen.

They could have lost the TT also.

It appears to be a Weekend Warrior. no big loss if it had burned. I'd have "let it burn" if it was mine. LOL

Too heavy? No, I don't buy that.

Ditto.

8 lug wheels indicate it's a 2500 or bigger truck.

That seat cushion burns good, burns up real good.
Exhaust leaks, missing heat shields, and expanded/draining fluid can all cause a fire and real fast.

This wouldn't even be a conversation if the TV was a Range Rover.
Everyone would just say" Yup. Figures"

The last 3 road side bonfires that I have seen have been Range Rovers on their way past my town going to cottage country.

They don't need to tow anything...they just need Lucas: Prince of Darkness.
