MY BIGFOOT

Howdy,
New to the forum, not new to truck camping. Bought our first BigFoot in 98' It was a 1500. In 2000 we were fortunate enough to purchase a new Dodge Cummins 3500 dually 4x4, and retired our Chevy 3500 single axle gas rig. Then, in 03' we saw the (new model at that time) Bigfoot 3000 series 30C10.11SL with a slide out, and we just had to have it. So, for 14 years we've been using this rig with joy.

Builders seem to never think about replacing things like fridges, not just in your case.

After 14 years including much boondocking, it's time to either sell it or start doing some refit work. Just last month the reefer/freezer took a dump and we had to replace the entire unit. To do this we had to remove the entire door assembly including frame. Also inside air conditioning shroud and one overhead light. Pretty big job just to replace the reefer. And the funny thing is, if Bigfoot would have added just 2" inch to the opening it would have been much easier. And yes, there is ample room to have built the door just 2 inches wider. It has still been an awesome TC but it's just at the point where we are wearing things out and plastic items are getting brittle.

Nice! We love and regularly use our 2004 Bigfoot Class C. Inside, it looks new! Outside, the weathering has been minimal in spite of my neglect to wax it! 🙂
