TFL drove the new F150 Lightning from Michigan to Colorado

Test Configuration: Mostly highway miles at 70-75 mph
Total Miles: 1225
Total Charging Time: ~ 5 hours

Summary: (Fail) Efficiency at highway speeds and charging time

Previous Test was the Rivian towing a small trailer up the Ike and the summary was an Epic Fail

Spoiler Alert: Pretty sure the towing test with the Lightning will fall into the Epic Fail category.

JMHO.

Same in other areas. We were unknowingly living in a bit of a bubble that has now burst.

Either way the terrible fail Ford Lightning is sold out for at least three years.

I was just naming a few ways a president, governor, and/or legislator has an effect on prices. The current administrated supported the "shut everything down" policy even though many economist said we will pay for it later down the line. He also supported and pushed the Covid spending Trillion dollar spending spree bill where more than half went pet projects that had nothing to do with covid which causes us to print more money which in turn causes higher inflation because the dollar is worth less. There are many more ways that these people can effect current prices and supply shortages.

Many new or special edition vehicles are bought out by those who can afford them so they can sell them at exorbitant prices later on. That is nothing special or new.

Control? No. Influence pricing due to policy, legislation, and regulation? Yes.

You can have the EPA make up new environmental laws that force refineries to shutdown or close the economy due to aggressive covid policies causing many energy companies to lose profit for a few years meaning they had to shut down at least five refineries in the past two years. You can force states to go renewable energy like wind mills that are more susceptible to harder climates, then when you have a freak cold snap for two week, then refineries that are making the additives for oil and fuel are forced to shut down due to no power.

There are many more things that a president, governor, or legislator can do and have done that effect costs.

What is the solution? Nationalize the oil industry and hold the price down? Sounds like socialism. ๐Ÿ˜ž

Nope. I'm fine with the price of fuel as long as it stays high long enough to A. Force the current gubmit and oil industry to spend more money like they always do in this scenario. = more work and higher profits in our industrial divisions which is less competitive and more profitable than other public and private sector work.
And B. also if it is long enough to tank the prices of vehicles and property/land/houses. Waiting to buy some of both, right now!

Oh, AND its not socialist...

If he could, the price of milk would = the price of gas right now....wish I had a car that runs on milk, currently. Maybe YS1 and 8.1 and t2r....and shelby (cant forget the new guy to the mix) could whip up a buggy that runs on 2% or skim. Heck I'd even buy premium (whole milk) if that's what it took, right now!

Well control the price of milk except the millions of gallons handed out as charity to all the blue voters on WIC and food stamps! lol

Numbers donโ€™t work for me and our uses. Not a truck with good towing/range capacity. So still need a truck. Cost of entry is prohibitive as an economical commuter.
Performance, yup if you get the right one, checks that box. But at double the cost of our sports car which canโ€™t keep the tires under it anyway, itโ€™s so fast.
Unlike the nut humpers who donโ€™t even own one and treat them like the next coming of Jesusโ€ฆ

And prior to the fuel price spike that โ€œis never coming back downโ€ (just like the last however many timesโ€ฆlol) the numbers were even more skewed.

The prices will come down, but not with the current clown behind the wheel.

Some people are nuts and do not have an ounce of common sense. I looked at an F-150 lighting platinum yesterday at a Ford dealer which was waiting for the buyer (from out of state) to take delivery. They paid $25K above sticker. The buyer probably thinks; oooooh look at the fuel savings just like Reisender, but the writing is on the wall with that due to rapidly rising electricity costs and the taxes etc will catch up with EV. $25K is about 7 1/2 years worth of $5.00 gas for the average US driver.

Heh heh :). If you are buying an EV just to save gas than just go buy a 10 year old Corolla and have at er.

Most people buy electric vehicles for a variety of reasons. Performance, tech, convenience, low maintenance and yes, for the high mileage commuter itโ€™s just dirt cheap to drive.

To each his own.

Cheers.

While I genuinely like the idea of battery powered vehicles, they just don't work for much of the driving we do these days. Case in point, we headed from Colorado Springs to eastern Oregon last week and put down 1040 miles in 17 hours. No need to stop for a hotel but 17 hours in one shot is about our limit when traveling with kids. We did the same trip in reverse last night. There is no way we could have done that same trip in an EV in a single shot. The most painful part was the multiple $200 fill ups.
.

I get that. But doing that in an electric might have added an hour or so to the trip. Depending on your schedule probably not that big of a deal. The โ€œfuelโ€ would have been a lot cheaper though. :).

Of course if you were towing thatโ€™s another thing. :). Not going to happen with any EV on the market today. :).

Cheers.

Coming to a country near you.

The only game changer that came out of china is the big "C". Everything else is copied or stolen technology

Everything realy ? Lol

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Chinese_inventions

Btw China also invented type o Gov that works for all people not only richest resulting in completely eliminating poverty and homelesnes.

https://youtu.be/n8JTmpnMwLI

Amazing yes !?

Perhaps you should immigrate there. Completely eliminated poverty LOL. That tells me you've never been there. Keep believing Utube D.B.'s LOL.

YT is american site,I think we can trust it.

Plus I can give you names of hundreds of foreigners living in China to verify anything.

Unfortunately YT also allows lots o anti china propaganda in some faint hope it will change Chinas future. It wont

I make a bet here go to YT and search China homeless, you wont find any even w all anti ccp rhetoric.

Bc China builds enough afordable housing for everyone.

https://youtu.be/-WhYKYmCBX0

Come to think of it try to find homeless chinese in any US or Canada city.
Never will. Do you know why

https://youtu.be/SEcLqYi0ZXs

You see China leaders are elected on basis of meritocracy serving the comunity and all peoples, not just the richest.
