Aftermarket Puck System

Wondering from those of you who installed a aftermarket puck system......did you also have a goose ball installed?

I’m going to have the Reese Elite underbed pucks installed on my 2015 2500HD and am not sure if I need or should get the ball too. Thanks!

Mine is factory installed and does have the center puck for the gooseneck ball. But I have never towed, or intend to tow, a gooseneck trailer. And don’t have the expensive special ball to put in there. Still, if the price difference for the basic install is minimal it would be there and ready if for some reason the need came up in the future.

You only need the ball if you want to pull a gooseneck trailer.
