2017 ford super duty trucks

Has Ford Motor Co went crazy with the height of their new trucks? I have a fifth wheel camper and 2013 Ford F350 duly. Wanted to buy new truck but cannot due to its height. I have independent suspension which is to hard to change so I guess Ford threw me under the bus with their new height.

So what's your secret? The new Ford's bed side is taller than my Ram's and I have to run my 5er about 2" high in the front with only 5.5" of clearance between the bed rail and 5er.

No secret. 5er and truck are both stock. Running a Curt Q25 hitch on highest setting. Morryde pin box with setup from factory. Axles not flipped on rig, no risers, and no bags on truck. Picture of truck and rig is setting on a slope from rear higher than front, not much but a slope.

I've considered when we get a 5th wheel to reverse level my 2017, remove the 2 1/2 rear block and put a 1" rear block in to bring it down to the height of the front and help accommodate a 5th wheel.

Factory "hauler" beds would be cool option. That would take care of half the problem.
Little reverse level on the truck if you have to is ok too. What do the new Ford have for blocks under the springs?

Yep, I bought mine used and didn't think I'd ever use it but I was wrong. If I ordered a new one it'd have to have that step.

What if you get rid of the box? Bed rail clearance won't be an issue, then can you lower the hitch?

I just "exchanged" my GMC dually for an new 17 Ford F350 dually. It does sit about 1 1/2" taller but still fits under my standard garage door. I did have to get a shorter radio antenna. With the GMC the Excel sat about 2" nose high but with the Ford I'm at about 4".

Earlier this summer I had scheduled a trip for next month to Elkhart to have the MorRyde IS system installed on the Excel. Part of the installation is leveling the trailer to the truck so the problem will be addressed. I don't like going even taller but it is what it is. I started with the full intention of getting another GMC but made the mistake of driving the Ford. We liked a lot of things about it over the GMC and made the change.
