Reflection 337/TPMS Question

We have a Reflection 337. I am wanting to add a TPMS for the 5th wheel. Is the repeater necessary? If so, was it difficult to hook up to the battery? Ours is a 2016 model-the battery is inclosed in the plastic case. Also curious if anyone has any recommendations. Looking at the TST 507 and possibly the TireMinder i10. Also saw on previous threads the flow-through stems aren't worth the potential problems and to just go with the button sensors.

Thank you for your advice.

Don't know about potential problems with the flow-through sensors, have had no issues with mine in the last 10 years, but they are an unnecessary expense, and a minor PIA. Due to the restrictions of the sensor, they take a very long time to add any significant amount of air. A couple psi may only take a couple minutes, but try adding 10 psi, or more, and you're going to be there for a while. I take mine off when adding air, which pretty much negates the whole premise behind them.

The 5th wheel you donโ€™t need to worry about going flat. Iโ€™d just put them on the other 4 wheelsโ€ฆ

Seems like you already got the TST system. Wonderful system. You seem to be misinformed about the flow thru sensors. The only difficulty happens only once. That issue is getting a metal valve stem that will fit the rim and be short enough so the sensor does not stick out past the side of the tire so it does not get broken off when you are near a curb. Took six samples before I found the right ones.

I was able to pick up the 12 volts needed from the light in the front compartment. Repeater sets a few inches from the light. TST 507 works great.

The repeater will be necessary. It's easily installed in the front (battery) compartment and connected to the battery for power. We used a TireMinder A1A (same sensors and repeater as the model you're considering) on our Reflection 337.

Can hook to batteries or to 12v panel, or whicjever is more convenient.
