42 volt golf cart???

what should the battery bank read on a fully charged 42 volt golf cart system??

yes, it has been charging them up 44.2 volts but I got a great deal on a Lester Summit II charger and they programmed it to 42 volts so I will use that one. That also has the absorption and equalizer phase.. Plus we go we go away for 5 or 6 weeks and this one we can leave plugged in and it is fully automatic to keep the batteries fully charged.

No, you need a 42v gc charger.

Some stuff on that when you Google 42 volt golf car. (They add a 6 to a 36) You get more speed but not more torque for hill climbing, which takes more current not more volts ISTR. You can do mods at great expense to change the gear ratio for hill climbing too if I got that right.

Just play on a flat course with no hills! 🙂

I think the guy at the golf car place I got my used T-1275s said they have either 4 T-1275 (12v) or six 8 volt batts for 48. He said the 6-8s had more grunt than the 4-12s if I remember that right--could be wrong, been a while and I didn't ask why or anything.

Must be a forum like this for golf cars with lots of good info.

If you meant was the meter ok to use, then yes since it shows the 45 volts. Or you can get a meter for a 48v golf car.

Perfect. just charged them and its reading 44.3 on the meter. Just got a 42 volt golf cart and after I charged them I noticed that the charger that came with it is a lester 36 volt charger. but did charge the batteries to 44.3. Is this ok to use???? thanks

there are 7 6volt batteries.

What battery? About 2.1 volts per cell or 44.1 maybe a little more.
