Cooper, not good (final update last page)

The vet just called and Cooper might have oral cancer. They're send a sample up to K-state pathology to determine if it's cancer. Vet said he has massive bone loss in his head. Will no Friday if it's his auto immune disease or cancer.

I just lost Mikko in January and this hits me hard.

I keep looking at my current dog sitting on on the floor looking at me. I think back to the 2 dogs that I had to take on their last truck ride and sit here with my eyes leaking. You will miss him but you have to remember that you gave him a loving home. It is best to let them go without putting them through hard times.
My current dog is a rescue from Kentucky and is a very loving mutt. Anyone who says that dogs don't love their people have never looked into the eyes of a dog when you get home after being gone for a while.

Dan, we're so sorry for this turn of events. I know you did the right thing but that doesn't make it any easier. Cooper was well-loved and cared for by you. He's waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge.

Today I made the difficult decision to have Cooper put to sleep. Rest in peace Cooper.

His quality of life diminished rapidly.

I hope Sawyer's experience is much like Duchess's. She seemed to understand completely. I know she missed her friend terribly, but she knew she was gone and accepted that.
