Florida Plates; How to Prove We haven't Been There Lately.

We're planning to leave the Tampa Bay area on July 7, driving straight through to Denver. Florida is becoming a real hotspot for COVID. I'm worried that one or more of the states we'll have to pass through could impose travel restrictions, possibly after we're several hundred miles into the trip. We also plan to visit a few other states out west before heading home in October, and FL license plates could be a problem.

We're retired and have been able to social distance, wear masks, stay home, etc. We will take all precautions while traveling to avoid spreading, in case we happen to be carrying it.

It would help to be able to prove that we've been out of Florida for several weeks, once we've reached that point. Google Maps sends me a report monthly on where I've driven, I assume using data from my map searches and location data from my phone . Does anyone know how to access that information? Or have any other ideas for proving where we've been, and when? Or anything to add regarding recent travel experiences, etc.

This is a trip we are committed to making for various reasons.

Thanks!

Firstly, at this time there are no travel restrictions in place along my route, per an internet search.

Kansas had general restrictions a month ago, but only if you lived there and were coming home. If you were passing through the state completely, as my son had to do for work, it didn't apply. Don't ask me how they enforced it. Just looked at a website that said as of June 17 their restrictions only applied to RESIDENTS who had visited AL, AR and AZ.

All the restrictions that were in place over the last few months mentioned 14 days of quarantine. The few restrictions regarding "hot spot" states say the same thing. That's why I'm looking for suggestions to prove where I've been over the next four months. On July 21 I will have been out of Fl for 14 days. On August 20 I will have been out of Colorado for 14 days (should it become a new hot spot), etc.

Secondly, if someone asks for suggestions for getting TV or internet service, or how to get FM radio to work, there's no place for comments about how they are all three full of propaganda, conspiracy theories, and generally contribute to mental decay. Although you could make a case for all that.

So, I stand by my opinion that information, suggestions and advice are appropriate responses to questions on a forum like this. Comments implying travel restrictions, wearing of masks, etc. are turning our country into "nazi germany" (that post has been removed) have no place here. Likewise the commonly recurring theme that anyone buying anything produced in a communist country is not a good citizen.

I'm willing to let people believe what they want, but I shouldn't have to put up with it at the grocery store or on a forum about RVing, or fishing, and so on.

I agree with those that understand what's going on and resist or don't believe some of the limitations recently suggested. (I'll not say imposed, because I don't see them being enforced, thank god.)
But another consideration is how old are you? The Rona is exponentially worse the older you are.
If I was in a differnet age group, id likely have a bit differnet outlook on it.

But the main thing is sift thru the bs. Seemingly intelligent people like my inlaws believe that it is dangerous for them to visit friends and family, but they beleive the "extra sanitation" at hotels, casinos and restaurants keeps them safe and they go out regularly.

The biggest issue with all of this is stupid people, not the virus itself it seems. Agencies have to model rules and limitations to the least common denominator of intelligence. And that is extra challenging since even "smart" people seem to get dumb when faced with any "situation."

Cummins2014, I agree with you and the others who posted in favor of safety. We are firm believers in staying safe AND doing the right thing regarding not spreading the virus to others, as mentioned in the original post (wearing masks, staying home as much possible, etc).

Regarding travelling across several states during the pandemic, we feel we have had very low risk of becoming infected due to how (retired, stay at home) and where (within the state) we live.

Also we are firm believers in doing what is needed to make things work in our increasingly difficult society - such as following rules and laws for the greater good. We have all given up certain "personal freedoms" so that order and safety can be maintained.

I'm active on other forums like this one for the several activities and interests I have. ALL OF THEM exist for the purpose of sharing information about their narrow specialty. ALL OF THEM have rules about not including politics, religion, etc. in the discussions.

I think these rules are necessary for the forums to function as intended, not to mention for the freedom to enjoy our pastimes away from the intrusion of politics and the like.

This is not a freedom of speech issue, the forum is a private endeavor with the right to limit activities thereon.

I'm always a vocal advocate for a forum to stick to its purpose.

The problem with the spread of this virus IMO ,is either I don’t care , or I’m not the problem doing what I want. If we ALL would do our part in being safe , and protect ourselves as well as others this thing would come to an end , but unfortunately with a lot of this ME generation that’s not happening .

You may get asked at some point if an area is having real problems, but I wouldn't let it stop me from going. In each case simply stating where you are going and that you're a turtle (carrying your house on your back) and therefore are social distancing should end any questions as long as you don't leave the US.

Yet.

OP here. Thanks for the suggestions about receipts, getting a test, etc. Also for posting the experiences you've had traveling lately. Any additional info is welcome.

If anyone has any knowledge about accessing travel records in Google Maps please chime in.

To those who want to espouse and/or discuss their political or cultural views regarding the virus issue, start your own thread. Maybe on some forum that exists for that purpose.

This is not a political issue ,its about staying safe ,not spreading a virus, I know you are entitled to do what you want, and there lies the problem .

I think of it as just another safety factor. One can choose to wear safety googles in a shop, or take a chance on losing an eye. I've been choosing safety googles for many, many years - and occasionally look at the scratches and chips that might otherwise have damaged my vision.

So, we do have the freedom of choice - wear googles or not, wear masks or not. Perhaps suffer the consequences of your personal choice, perhaps not. It's not a political decision, it's a safety decision.

I look at it this way, if you don't like wearing masks to protect others, and yourself you are really not going to like being on a ventilator. Heaven forbid we give up a few freedoms , or blindly do whatever we want, look at whats going on in this country.

What ? For like 3 days? What does a negative test that is a week or a month prove other than you didn’t hav the Rona then?
Or does it make people feel better like masks?
