Getting ready to put new tires on. Mine are 7 years old. May move to a different tire. What is your size preference. Not brand.

245 75 22.5 or
255 80 22.5

Not sure which works out better. Workhorse chassis

Thank you for your input. It is appreciated.
I decided on Falkens RI151 for the drive tires. 245/75r/ 22.5. Michelin 235/80r 22.5 on the front.
I felt the 255 may have been too big of a jump as well.
Had to have one Michelin replaced so I just got one more and am using them for the steer tires. Overall about 900 saved.
If I had a new coach and planned on keeping it for 5 more years I probably would have gotten Michelins and kept everything the same.

My preference is to replace like (size) and kind unless I have specific reason NOT to do so. My idea of better may not be your idea of better.

What is it, . . . . . . specifically, that you want to "work out better?"

Well the PREFERRED size is of course the one only Michelin makes (Not sure which) But the other size should work well. To be honest I don't know what size my tires are. Ok The Originals were 235/80 R 225

My New Toyos are 245/75 R 225

The difference is less than 1/2 of one percent in terms of overall circumference per the salesman and he showed me the figures (I do not have them) work well.

I am very happy with them. In terms of size I would be hard pressed to recommend one over the other.. Only recommendation is stick as close to the same total circumference (outside circumference) as possible.

A reasonable choice (above).

235/80R22.5 to 255/80R22.5 is quite a big change in size.

Sir Cumfrance... Biggest knight at the round table.

Note on brands: Mitchlin is better for long haul truckers cause the treat lasts a long long time

Why I switched to Toyos which do not last as many miles? Well they will age out before they wear out and both age out at the same rate.
