I don't know if this is allowed, and if it isn't please delete the thread. We have a EMS-PT50C from when we had our HR, that has been the only unit we've owned that required 50 amp service. I anyone has a EMS-PT30 and they need to upgrade to a 50 amp unit, I would like to swap you for it.

I am in need of a surge protector. If swapping it out does not pan out I may be interested in purchasing it. PM. me if you are interested.

One argument for keeping the 50 is this. THe unit has several functions. We talk about low voltate/high voltage and stuff a lot here in the forums but you know those cheap "Surge Guard" strips you plug things like computers into..

Well the EMS also has MOV's that clip spikes (What those "Surge Strips" Do) and the 50 has a lot more of 'em than the 30's do so it's superior even when used on 30 amp.

Just keep what you have and get a dog bone. Someday you may get a site that only has 50amp and will need one anyway.

That's one way I guess, but I will never have another 50A unit.

What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.
Can't we all just get along?

Just get a 50A to 30A dogbone. Then you can use the EMS-PT50C with your new rig.

You can always use the 50A EMS on a 30A RV, too. I believe you just leave the L2 connections open. If that doesn't work, connecting them in parallel would definitely be fine.

That's great of you! However, I bought a new one about 3 weeks ago when we switched from a 30 amp TT to a 50 amp 5er.

I still have a 13,500 air condidtioner I've been trying to give away for 5 years now. It does not have the plenum. I suppose that's why no one wants it.

You are a good guy, giving it away. We've given away LOTS of unneeded-any-more camping stuff.
