‘Twas the night before Christmas, with a long road ahead;
It’ll be well past midnight ‘til we’re tucked in our bed.
With an itch for warm sand, ‘tween each of our toes;
Means we still have, oh my, a long way to go.
Our Lucy, our “B”, is surely up to the task;
She’ll take us wherever we reasonably ask.
Her wheels are turnin’; mile after mile.
On my bride’s face, there’s a hint of a smile.
Her medical issues, I’m sure still on her mind;
But, at least for a while, she’ll leave ‘em behind.
The weather turned cold at home some time ago;
The thought of a long winter, well, we just had to go.
Lucy’s pullin’ a trailer with our Burgman inside;
Can’t wait ‘til it’s warm to go for a ride.
But, alas, that simply won’t be today;
‘Cause we still have to go quite a long way.
But, during the night, our site will become our home;
My bride will likely finish her day with her usual tome.
When morning arrives, we’ll just have to see;
If Santa knew just where we’d be?
He has an unusual knack to keep track of folks;
But only those, of course, who’ve been “good” blokes.
While I can’t say, for sure, his opinion of me;
I am quite sure that my bride has been “good” you see.
I’ll be up afore dawn, as is my daily habit;
I’ll light our small tree, with a favorite gadget.
The coffee and tea, on the stove will be brewing;
The sun rising over the water; awaits our viewing.
Soon we'll start our Burgman and it’s off for a ride;
She’s been parked for some time, I must confide.
But, that’s tomorrow, we’ve a way yet to go this day;
So that means we have just a bit more to say.
As day turns to night, and Santa takes flight;
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.
