Started to look into some water damage in the kitchen of our 83 Pace Arrow. The more I looked, the more I found. I have some pics of the damage so far. Anyone interested in following a rebuild thread?

Here is a slightly better picture of the area between the top of the wall and the roof plywood.

The blue arrow is pointing to the top of the wall steel. The red arrow is pointing to the space between the plywood and the steel. The black arrow is pointing to a piece of ChemLink. (no reason, just because I could).

So, there is a little room between the roof plywood and the wall steel, so that I can pump some spray foam in there to fill up the empty space.

As you can see here, stretching it quite a bit, we now have a length of 2.75 inches.

Trying that with Dicor - hah, yea, just won't happen. The ChemLink will stay that way.

Here is a piece of ChemLink that has been in the sun for a couple of months. Pulling it out without stretching it, yields about a 1.5" length.

I put the steel up on the drivers side today. This side actually went up a little easier than the passenger side.

Years to go? Don't expect it will take that long. Hopefully, next year will be substantially, complete! We'll see. Wahoo!

Thank you, that is a lot of work

Thanks. Getting closer to the point that it will actually look like I am getting something done. Lol.

What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.
Can't we all just get along?

Side note, here is my solution to a tube of caulk/adhesive that has dried at the end. This is a 3" screw.

Screw it in the end of the tube, and then pull it out with a pair of pliers. May have to repeat, in order to get the cured stuff out of the end, but it does work.

If the adhesive sits for too long, it's probably a lost cause.

I needed some longer screws today than what I had available. Did you know, if you size the hole you drill in 1/8" steel, you can use green exterior screws? If the hole is too small, they will snap off, but if you get the hole right, they will hold very well. I was going through plywood into the 1/8" steel.

What the screws actually look like.
