Gulf Stream invested a lot of time and effort into the Montaj - and then the economy went belly-up in 2009. As a privately held company, it's hard to know how much this 'R&D flop' cost them. Gulf Stream no longer makes Motorhomes focusing instead on trailers since late 2011.
I've seen two Montaj's over the years. Much better looking in person than in photographs. Great use of interior space at the cost of some interior and a bit more exterior compartment size. I think the Thor ACE is the closest equivalent made today. Both are approx. 30' coaches with clever features built on the 18000 lb Ford
F53 chassis.
In the end, I am sad. I had great hopes for the Montaj.
