I have a question about air dryers? I am not trying to high-jack the original post so please excuse me. I always thought the the air dryer was a piece of equipment that could be removed and rebuilt. Approx. 1 1/2 year ago I had my air dryer serviced and the air dryer was a large canister very similar to an oil filter only larger in diameter. The mechanic bled all the air from the system and unscrewed the old one and installed the new unit. I have the old unit in the garage. The price of the new air dryer was approx. $240.00. I would think that next time I could change it myself. The mechanic said the key is to purge the air system well.

If your system had a weak unloader, you can check it out pretty easy by
appling shop air to the RV while it is not running so the governor is in cutout mode and is allowing air to the unloaders. If they are leaking you can usually hear or feel it blowing back out the intake of the compressor.
Doug might drop by in a few and correct us all.

Most likely the pressure relief valve popping off, the regulator on the compressor is bad

First thing I would do is open the valves, make sure there is no water in tanks.
