Whats Your Real Weights? Truck and Trailer. The Real Deal

I donโ€™t know if itโ€™s been done before or not but I was thinking about keeping a running list of real truck weights by year and type, and trailer weights by brand, size and what the total combined weight is of each guys rig. I was hoping the info would be a help for guys wondering about what the real weights are for a certain type of truck and to keep track of the more popular brand 5th wheel trailers. Another thing that will come out of it will be to see just how many guys really know what they are towing and if they know what their weight capacities are.
Iโ€™m sure it will take some time to compile a list and it will grow as guys add there info but Iโ€™m hoping it will help the newer guys in the long run to be directed back over to this thread in the future.
Iโ€™ll keep the TV lists to mainly the big 3 and from ยพ ton and up and Iโ€™ll try to keep the 5ers in a group by real GVW, length, and then manufacture. Any ideas are welcome as long as it makes things easier. And only real information can be given, so no guessing allowed. Only guys that have scaled there rigs or are totally certain of the weights.
Letโ€™s see if I can keep the format real simple to type down and that will make it simpler for guys to refer back to and to keep track of.

Here are my numbers. I did weigh full of fuel and DEF but on the 2nd weigh with the trailer I had ~3 gallons less fuel since I had to go pick up the camper at the storage lot. I also moved my generator (~100lbs) to the basement from the bed of the truck. Fresh water tank was full and only had my tools and a few other items in the camper.

Numbers show 2280 pin weight and GVWR of 12760. I am over on my CCC but still under RAWR and GCVWR.

Jeff, I donโ€™t think you lined up the axles on the scales correctly. Here is a page explaining how to weigh the RV rig.

Jeff, those are NOT your real weights, it appears that you were not correctly positioned on the plates, and the second weigh is the TV only, less the 5er. The weight and pin weight can be calculated from those two different weighing.

^^ something is wrong with those weights... there is NO WAY he can have 9920# on the drive AND ONLY 4240# on the trailer axles..????????

Oh, and as a PSA, since I didn't see it mentioned in this thread, CAT Scales has two phone based apps that makes locating and executing a weigh super simple. Don't even have to get out of your truck, results show on your phone and get emailed to you as a pdf. $11 per weigh.

Start a topic about this so we are not taking away from basic posting of peoples weights.

Let me know where this new thread gets started, 'cause I'm terribly confused, too.

2004 GMC Sierra 3500 Crew Cab, DRW, 4x4 D/A, full tank of fuel, small passenger

Front axle on scale: 4,520lbs
Front axle GAWR: 4,800lbs
Rear axle on scale: 3,620lbs
Rear axle GAWR: 8,550lbs

Total truck on scale: 8,140lbs
Total truck GVWR: 11,400lbs

Max 5th wheel tow capacity, per manual: 16,100lbs, not to exceed 3,500lbs pin weight

GCWR not to be exceeded: 23,500lbs

So if GCWR is not supposed to exceed 23,500lbs, that would limit me to a 12,100lbs GVWR trailer, regardless how loaded the truck is (up to 11,400lbs)?

So where is 16,100lbs coming from?

BTW if anyone wants to search this thread, go to the url line on the first page and you'll see it looks like this

https://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/20298675.cfm

Remove the .cfm at the end, and replace with /print/true.cfm

Hit enter and you will now have one long continuous page. Use your Ctrl-F or Cmd-F (find) function, and easily search the whole thread.
