Sold the Cougar, looking at a Montana Mountaineer

Howdy All,
We sold our 2006 Cougar which served us well for the last six years. We wanted a little more sitting room and to not have the shower in our bedroom this time. We found a locally owned 2013 Montana Mountaineer 295RK that is really clean for sale near by. My wife liked the extra counter space of the rear kitchen. The mid living area has a sofa sleeper and two swivel recliners.
We originally wanted to buy new but with today's prices this really nice used one is 1/4 of the price of a new one. Going back tomorrow to make sure everything works as it should. It might be our barn by the weekend.

Congrats on your purchase, but possession should be much quicker! If your bank would have contacted the bank handling the loan, dealing directly with lien holder, things would be more transparent.

All you need would be a bill of sale, to immediately take possession, and go on your trip. Your bank is the best place to get advice in these transactions.

JMO, but I would not wait that long, for a transaction that the seller should have been prepared to close in a timely manner.

Update on the Montana, we have settled on the price. The owner had to go pay off the loan then wait for the title to arrive. Looks like it will be a couple more weeks to wait. Messes up our planned trip to Gatlinburg area. Waiting patiently now.

We have come across a few Montana owners that had an older one and since it was so good, they traded for a new Montana, and they all wished they had kept the older one. The new one was always in the shop. Seems around 2014 or 2015, the QC went to pot. It is not just Montana, it is pretty much across the board. In 2020, with the COVID rush, QC dropped more.

The Montanas of that age and older had few problems. Recent years have had more issues, but they also have more bells and whistles that can cause issues. I would not be afraid of that trailer if it was well kept and maintained.

If you do buy, join the Montana Owners Club forum. Very friendly group and can answer any questions about a Montana. Or go ahead and join now and ask your question about the model there.
