Allworth, it has nothing to do with brand lets not go there.
It has everything to do with driver awareness, the pickup no matter brand did not have heavy duty towing package or it would not have strap on mirrors.
If you cannot take good care of what you have, you will not have anything good for very long!!!

I think there is more to it than is told by the picture. And likely we will never know the real answer.

The 5th wheel is a Reflection 295RL. Itโ€™s definitely one of the 150 series and the 295RL is the only one where the awning runs past the bedroom window. Theyโ€™re 8800lbs dry with a dry pin weight of 1400lbs. GVWR OF 10,995lbs. We have no idea what is loaded in the trailer. Going by GVWR there could be 2200lbs of pin weight. Totally doable by the right F150. Going strictly by the wheels on the truck it doesnโ€™t have the HDPP. But none of that matters when the pin slides out the back of the hitch. Either way, that is a lot of damage if thatโ€™s what truly happened.

I think its a simple explanation here ,he forgot to lock his B&W hitch, and dropped it on the bed. This all could of been prevented with a steel Andersen hitch . :B

Looks to me like maybe he had a slider hitch with the hitch in the rear position. This put too much weight on the trucks frame behind the axles, as he was jockeying into position, and bent it.

The blown out rear window is what makes me think that may be the case.
I have no idea what the pin weight of that 5er is but it looks like it was obviously too much for that truck!:E

Pictures can be deceiving!
Could be that the 5er was not locked into hitch, pulled forward and it fell on the tailgate.

Looks to me like it's still on the hitch and legs up. I guess he could have raised it back up and then backed back under it to try to make it home. Aluminum bed?

Simple.......
Didn't do a 'pull test' before traveling

Besides an F150 and a 5th wheel are never a good match
Is it time for your medication or mine?
