Zion -- where to stay in mid April

We are going to Zion for 3 days this spring break. National parks website doesn't take reservations. According to the website, "the campsites are assigned on a first-come-first-serve basis". is it risky to drive all the way from Southern CA to find out that RV sites aren't available? What are your suggestions? We want to stay as closer to the Zion park as possible (entrance from southern CA route). thanks

Perhaps the website thinks he's coming now.

This place is right at the gate and in the town of springdale. if you need hookups this is the best place to stay.

It is, but it's 1st come first serve from November thru Feb.

They are going in April so no problem, plenty of sites just outside the gate also.
