Oregon US 22 between Bend and Salem

FYI, OR22E between Santiam Jct and Detroit is closed indefinitely due to a fatal tanker truck wreck and fire. This effectively closes OR22E between Bend and Salem. Alternate route is US20 from Bend westbound, or from I-5 / Sweethome area eastbound.

In addition, heavy snowfall is expected in the Oregon Cascade passes Tuesday night. Plan accordingly, and be careful out there.

Well, "indefinite" means a week. The road (OR22E) is open again. Driver died, 11,000 gallons of gasoline spilled, numerous trees on fire, fears of the gas getting into the river. Probably have to re-do the emergency paving they did to open the road.
