Good to hear from you FC, we are presently in PEI visiting friends and heading back Thursday. The only thing I really miss from the Journey is the Sat dish. So far 10 days w/o TV. lol

Camy is from that area of Nova Scotia and we love to visit whenever we can.

I am from Sackville New Brunswick which you passed through on your way to and from Nova Scotia.

I wouldn't consider it a short cut. More of a scenic alternate route. It's slower and a 2 lane 80 KPH road. The other 101/102 is all divided highway at 110 KPH. Time wise there really isn't that much difference. I have family in Kentville and traveled it a few times but prefer to use 101/102.

14 is well maintained, about the same as 8, 10 and 12.

Good roads for a slower pace of travel with small amounts of traffic.

From Windsor to Chester it is in really good shape.

If you are not in a rush use these roads..
