Looking at this as a shortcut, but not shown as a route for truckersโ€ฆ Any experience with this route? We are towing a 33 ft fiver. Any mountains or weather concerns? We travel on Sunday. Thanks!

Good shortcut but this route is also used by trucks as much as regular traffic in both directions. We use it every time we are traveling this area.

They say 3 times the charm, no worries for any size RV as we have been through that route with our 5er, TTs, toyhauler, and currently our 40' class A with GMC SUV toad attached. Great time and mileage saver plus eliminates the hassle of going through often crowded Border patrol checkpoint north of Las Cruces.

the 'Hatch Cutoff' is an EZ two-lane road that will save you miles and time. You will go thru the small town of Hatch just prior to the I-25 interchange but it's no big deal. we used to do it in our 40' class A towing a Jeep SUV.

Deming to Hatch (I-25) via HWY 26 should be no problem. It's a good 2-lane road with no grades. Escapees use it all the time leaving the Escapees park in Deming. The only problem is that you'll pass up the best southwestern food in the country by missing Las Cruces...
