Best route to I15 traveling north from Kanab

Looking at going north on 89 from Kanab UT to route 20 which is about 10 miles north of Panguitch to get to I15. RV Trip Wizard routes me that way but looks like some mountains with twist and turns. Has anyone taken their RV over that route and think it is okay.? Thanks f

Thank everyone for their response. Saw some 8% long grades and the point about few pull off's and slowing traffic we decided take 89 to 70 and then to 15. Wife points out she can go by “Big Rock Candy Mountain” if we gothat way so you know what she voted ??
All 3 highways cross the same mountain range, both 14 &20 are Both very doable in any motor home, 70 you must cope with the truck traffic.

Wouldn’t take 14 in the motorhome. Way too much fuel use, hilly and narrow, and little room for error, plus slowing down traffic since there’s not a lot of places to pull of. Motorcycle or car, yes.

If you’re headed north, why not just take 89 north to 70, and across, or 89, 70, 50, to 15?

Why? it's 6 of one half dozen of the other.
We've been both routes, I liked 14 better.

14 isn't that bad either, brings you to Cedar City on 15.
Pretty scenic route too.

Aren't the Zion Tunnels on 14?

No they are on 9 thru the park.

Believe the tunnel is on 9 not 20. Thanks for the thought though.

We actually dropped south to Fredonia and west on 389 but there is nothing wrong with 89 north. You'll have several opportunities to go west, first on 20 then on I-70. We have not been over 20 but I-70 eliminates whatever problems you would see on there. I don't recall why I went down to 389 to be honest, maybe because we had a long way to go that day on I-15. All the way to Provo then across to Fruitdale.

Oh yeah I wanted to stop at the CW in St George, which we never actually found.
