We went to Myrtle Beach the first 2 weeks of October, right after the hurricane went through. The first week the wife and I were fine but the second week we both became ill with 'something'. We thought was allergies with the sneezing, runny nose stuffy head symptoms. I got body aches for 3 days along with the other symptoms....and no, we had not gotten our flu shots as yet. The stuffy head and sinus issues lingered for 2 more weeks after we got home to East TN. We have since gotten our flu shots. Schools here in TN are being closed because of a high rate of illness among the kids.

Looks like we will just keep avoiding crowds and limiting our contact with others.

Could have been Covid.

Definitely could have been. When I had Covid, the only symptoms I had were runny nose and fatigue. Never had a cough, sneezing, headaches, fever, etc.

Chronic inner ear infection note
I suffered with 4 inner ear eustachian tube infections in 2016. Each time I was treated with injected and oral antibiotics. But I lost 95% hearing in one ear.
The last trip to the ER I was given a pneumonia vaccine. It stopped the maddeningly regular (monthly) infections.
Coincidence?
I did little research and found a pneumonia inoculation was standard procedure for repeated inner ear infections. And another point: "One jab for life" is not the current protocol. There's a newer vaccine that covers 23 different bacteria. It's on my bucket list.

I also get the flu shot every year and it works great. It is sad that there are no vaccinations for diabetes. Now I buy ozempic online , do a lot of sports and eat right. It's sad that I can't eat the food that I used to eat every weekend after a busy week haha
