I don't know where you get your info but I am told GM orders start 12-12 for the 2024 models. Both Chevy and GMC are advertising those 2024s will be on lots late spring 2023.
I stand corrected. It is Jan. 26, 2023 for crew cabs. Element
I had a GMC General Manager tell me a few weeks ago I could order a 2024 starting 12-12. The same Schmuck who told me he would come off sticker price on a 2023 2500 they had in the showroom. Upon face to face contact it turns out coming off sticker was the $500 incentive GM had in place at the time. He informed me of that right before offering a lowball number by about $5K on a trade in LOL.
Can't say I am surprised by the last staement. Heck, years ago before we had kids, we'd sometimes go mess with car dealers for entertainment...great fun. Have a few cocktails watching college football and then go pretend to be a sucker for a new car...seemed fitting to waste their time once in a while, lol.
WTH his going on with vehicles though? I don't keep up on auto industry scuttlebutt, but is 2023 model year basically going to be a non year for autos? Sounds like some other cheezy sales ploy. "You can get a 2024 model NOW!! Be the envy of all your friends!"

And this is why I'm encouraging my kids to pick careers that are as "economy proof" as possible. Something I didn't realize when I was their age, but fortunately chose wisely, unintentionally.
I'm just sitting here waiting to capitalize on the upcoming recession...

I know MANY kids who HAD TO GO to big name college's for their degree, only to get a job out of their study field and triple digit debt.
Our good friends daughter just got married, between the 2 of them, they have close to $200,000 in school loans... He is now installing windows..
I told my kids the same a Grit... They BOTH went to Community College first and transferred credits after.. They both graduated with zero debt and 1 (29 ) is now a lead nurse and the other (24 ) an accountant..

Bingo! Good job sir!
Now, the junior college thing can be accomplished in high school, here at least.
Older son graduated last year from high school also with an AA and virtually every pre-req for his major already complete. Turned a 5 year bachelors program into 3 (with a pretty cake last semester before graduating).
Fortunately he will graduate with zero debt as well, thanks to the Bank of Mom n Dad, but he effectively saved us and himself 50% through his hard work, so...
Younger son is doing similar, as a junior in high school, doing Running Start full time, although not as academically focused as his older brother, he will have all his high school credits by Nov of his senior year and a fair amount of college credits in the bank to move forward with whatever he does.
His motivation is different. His motivation is spurred also by can't stand the liberal social equity and inclusion [email protected] that they have to endure to attend high school as normal boys or girls AND his schedule now allows him to only have classes Tues through Thurs so he misses zero classes while traveling for hockey.
Both kids are doing win-win scenarios though, even though ultra liberal the school district does not promote it, actually indirectly discourages it. But the kids are better off for it.

Never said I wasn't, and truthfully I hope you're right on the recession thang.
But I won't forego the opportunity there, if or when it happens.

A recession may not cause the price of vehicle to go down a whole bunch. If some, who might normally buy 3 year old vehicles are feeling the crunch they might instead be looking at 6 year old vehicles and those who normally buy new might instead be looking at either keeping what they own or buying 3 years old. If less new cars are sold the manufacturers and dealers might be trying to make as much as they can off their limited sales.

Yes it does because the mass corporate layoffs being announced almost daily, home values and sales dropping like a stone, runaway inflation not seen in about 30 years, and out of sight energy costs with potential shortages are all a sign of a robust growing economy. At least 401K's are doing great. lol.
Just seen a line at a local food bank in Cleveland on the news that was larger than the lines at the beginning of Covid. Those folks are capitalizing on bags of potatoes.

I had to deal with a 28/29ish Construction Project Manager last month whose degree was in Environmental Science or something. He sent emails to all subcontractors that a 68 unit, 4 story apartment building needed to be done, and occupied, by 10-31. This was on 10-12 and they had not hung one sheet of drywall yet in the entire building at the time he sent the email. They dont even have any of the site construction started yet, roads, parking lots etc.
Now there are contract requirements and such that drive such foolishness when GC's mismanage or subs drop the ball, but this moron actually believed it was possible ROFLMAO.
