We have been lucky. No one in our family or in our circle of friends has had any problems. One nephew and his wife had a mild cold-like symptoms for a few days. They tested positive for the omicron variant. Everyone else -- nothing.

We had the vaccinations and the booster. Got the seasonal flu shot. I joke I am like the family dog -- current on all my shots.

Life goes on. A face mask has become part of my EDC even though it is seldom required anymore. Every time I go out I grab my phone, glasses, keys, wallet, and mask. It is just part of the routine now.

Ditto here also Dave in terms of Nell and my daily activities.

Tennessee has been one of the worst states in terms of taking Covid seriously; and unfortunately citizens are paying for that mistake; many needlessly with their lives.

México declares all 31 states GREEN.
Mask, distancing, and occupancy rules to go away.
No New Variants of concern anywhere.

My wife and I are both RNs, she is in trauma, I'm in the ER. We've both had COVID and survived it with no problems and no vaccine. Both of us are over 60, not obese, no co-morbidities. Most of our staff (RNs and MDs) feel that the vaccine is a bigger threat than the virus. Document release by Pfizer seems to be confirming that suspicion. Hopefully the virus will soon be declared endemic and will join the seasonal flu as another nuisance we have to deal with.

For a few people. Not a generalization as you make it appear. I don't give a hoot what capacity you work in you NEVER generalize medicine and immunology. Yes through virology I qualify as an M.D.

Anecdotal occurrences are not evidence. i.e. you got lucky. Others died, insisting they did not have covid.

Which vaccine side effects occur at higher rates in vaccinees than with those infected? Provide links to the rates in both groups; peer reviewed studies or preprints will be acceptable as sources of data, news articles and opinion websites will not be acceptable data sources.

I'll get things started. Myocarditis occurred at a higher rate after infection than after vaccination.

Quote:

We estimated an extra two, one and six myocarditis events per 1 million people vaccinated with ChAdOx1, BNT162b2 and mRNA-1273, respectively, in the 28 days following a first dose and an extra ten myocarditis events per 1 million vaccinated in the 28 days after a second dose of mRNA-1273. This compares with an extra 40 myocarditis events per 1 million patients in the 28 days following a SARS-CoV-2 positive test.

Risks of myocarditis, pericarditis, and cardiac arrhythmias associated with COVID-19 vaccination or SARS-CoV-2 infection

Here in México Rayos Xs have revealed one confirmed case and the 8 year old was born with a cardiac defect and recovered without Rx intervention. Total cases all variants continue to a point lower in PPM than any measured beforehand. Only extremely isolated indigenous villages that refused inoculation report sporadic probable undocumented cases.

And like the majority of flu that has ran its course in my lifetime, I always seem to get infected when it's on it's way out.

Had to go to cardiologist last thursday. First symptoms began Sunday. No not a cough, or runny nose...

Swollen eyelids like conjuvitis. Red eyes. Pain. Then fever started. Now 102.2°F without Tylenol. Body aches and fatigue. Sleeping 12-15 hours a day.

No sore throat or any discerable respiratory impact.

I am very relieved I was ultra immunized. With the top 5 comorbidities, like daily Dexamethazone Rx I seem to be a walking poster boy for worst case sceanario.

If symptoms increase to worrisome levels friends are more than ready to take me to a waiting border ambulance.

I am isolated quarantined and will stay this way for the next week. Of allthe symptoms, the eyes bother me the most because I am an avid reader.
