Stay home stay safe still applies to the entire state. It's not a free for all in the North.

Governor caught not following the spirit of her own order. Do as I say, not as I do!

Let me see if I got this right. The MI governor is telling everyone to stay home and not travel. Yet her husband called his boatyard, 150 miles away, to get his boat put in the water in time for Memorial weekend? He's turned down so he drops his wife name. So the peons are on lock-down while the state's royalty goes boating far from home? Double standard for the rich and famous?

Unfortunately you do not have it right. Our governor has done a great job of taking our opening slowing. Before Memorial weekend two zones, the Upper Peninsula & northern portions of the lower peninsula, were allowed to open various retail, eateries, bars, etc., with reduced seating, based upon actual data showing those portion of our state had much lower infection rates than the lower parts of the state. The northerners are not overly happy to see all the southerners pouring into the north, but if people follow proper social distancing & wear masks where necessary all should go well. We'll know for sure in a couple of weeks.

The governor's husband called a boat storage in Traverse City, an area opened prior to the holiday weekend. He shouldn't have asked for special favors and I'm sure he's in the governor's doghouse right now.

The term "lock-down" is a bit strong. I live in SW Michigan, although lived in the U.P. and Gaylord for about 25 years, and we are not locked into our homes. Many businesses are open. We go shopping at the grocery stores, hardware stores, get our vehicles fixed, go golfing, go to the beaches, go fishing, and outside of some places that remain closed we currently live a fairly normal life right now. Wearing masks are no problem for a majority of folks because we are doing it for the good of everyone.

Just so some of you can breathe a sigh of relief. I went to central WI for the weekend. We were the only IL people there. Everyone out and doing normal things. It was nice for a change.

Personally after taking to many people they are seeing the writing on the wall. In that this virus was overhyped front eh beginning! The numbers are just now being proven to have been inflated. Reporting is inconsistent. And all the hospitals that were suppose to be filled never did. Even my wife who was scared to death at the beginning of all this is starting to see the little things being reported.

I guess we know who to thank for that incentive and thanks to all of us Michiganders hoping for a better outcome.

Time to go fishing up north.... yep 12' row boat qualifies for social distancing !!

A good plan as long as the virus or anyone infected with it knows to stop and turn around when they get to the county line.

Why the sarcasm?

It is a good plan since he has a choice which I'm sure he probably worked pretty hard to achieve. Of course wearing a mask, washing your hands, and distancing protects against the pesky virus that doesn't respect borders.

This virus is new enough that there is very little data available. The health community cannot come to any agreement as to what works and what doesn't. It is also doubtful that a vaccine (tested) will be available anytime soon.

Here in Michigan, we have a loophole in the emergency powers available to our Governor, and she has taken full advantage of this. The majority of cases center in the Detroit area, but the lock-step lock down strangles the whole state. It appears that Our Leader may be angling for a possible position in the next federal election.

Just MHO.

The ENTIRE southern part of the state as in south of the thumb are still very much hot beds and so is northern Illinois and Ohio. This stay at home policy does error on the conservative side but make no mistake our governor is looking out for you and the demands on our hospitals and medical staffing. If the self-righteous and greedy legislature had their way you would be in the bars and casinos now and the second wave could get its grasp and be far worse than the first.

I think from those that know her that this state is her passion and the people here. She is one with both feet on the ground and is far more intelligent than any past offerings I have known. (think Flint).

Are you taking about the โ€œhotbedโ€ that has been made up. Watch the video I posted of the head of public health for Chicago. On TV she said that if you are in hospice and have 2 weeks to live, and then you are tested positive for Covid that will be the cause of death! I had to watch the video twice. The numbers cannot be trusted and neither can the experts. They have an agenda and itโ€™s not for the public! Itโ€™s about $$$

The death count dispute is a rabbit hole I refuse to follow you down. It's a shiny object being used to captivate the minds of the cognitively impaired and/or the dishonest.

The numbers do vary NPR reported today that the real number of deaths is about 130,000. NPR is normally a good source of info. Believe in the stats or not that is your choice but for me Michigan has a good plan so far and we plan to stay in a county that has only 20 cases and not where our home is in Oakland county with over 8200 cases and almost 1000 dead thanks. Use safe distance and ware a mask is the order of the day!

Inflated numbers

The same people that are bringing you the fear are not only selling you a vaccine but an continuous series of vaccines.

There is also a big difference in the numbers depending on how they count the deaths. There is a huge difference in dying FROM it or dying WITH it. They are paid $13000 for each positive diagnosis of cv and $39000 to be put on a ventilator.

FROM IT OR WITH IT

Tip of the iceberg?

Its all about how you count anything. A guy i worked with says he never gets the flu now that he started getting the flu shot. I said i never get the flu shot and i never get the flu. I said maybe you donโ€™t get the flu because you quit smoking pot. He said pot doesnโ€™t give you the flu, i said no but you were most often smoking pot with others who were also smoking pot with others so your potential contact with hundreds or maybe even thousands of people sure could get you the flu or any number of things.

There is no absolute positive scientific proof in either of our examples but what does your logic tell you. It all depends on how you count or measure anything.
