I think people are actually allergic to Oxygen but it takes about 80 years for it to finally kill you.

Yes, breathing pure O2 is not a good thing for a period of time. That's why our atmosphere has various other gasses, such as nitrogen, included.

I started smoking cigarettes at age of 16.....it was cool and I dang sure wanted to be cool
Smoked at least One pack a day ----many 2 pack sessions too.
Smoked working in the oil field, in the NAVY, in construction, at school, around the pool/BBQ dang never everywhere in ALL kinds of weather.

In 2003 I started smoking ONLY when outside...she had asthma so I did NOT smoke around her.

In 2014 I had tappered down to just 5 cigs a day....all out on front porch.
So I quit.

No my appetite didn't increase/food taste better.....always had a great appetite and I liked food
No my breathing didn't get better/improve......never had a problem with breathing/my lungs etc (Doctors always questioned if I really did smoke)
No my overall health didn't improve.......joints degenerated but that had to do with damage I had done when I was young and invincible

I quit because I just didn't enjoy it any more.
But I did enjoy it for 45 years that I did smoke cigarettes, cigars and pipes along with 'hand rolled'

Is it time for your medication or mine?

Yeah, there's always that outlier, like Eubie Blake, smoked two packs of unfiltered Pall Malls from around the age of 12 to late in his nineties...he lived to be 100 years old.

...And then there are those who never smoked, never chewed, never lived near a smoker or chewer, yet came down with, and died from, lung cancer. Nearly every time, the "experts" could not find a definitive cause for the cancer.
It seems like cancer is not like a pearl in an oyster. You can't cut to the center of it and find the little speck that caused it to form!

The evidence is well grounded regarding the health effects of smoking: Link Between Cancer Death Rates and Smoking

It is quite possible, unfortunately, over the coming years the same link with be be verified regarding vaping. The very limited data available right now seems to point in that direction.

I'm not quite sure WHY there is such confusing about 'vaping' and lung issues?

Lungs were intended to take in AIR, release O2 into our blood stream and expell CO2
ANYTHING other then air WILL ahve a detrimental affect on ones lungs
YES ...smoking did NOT harm mine but I am the exception.

Vaping is no better then smoking....still inhaling 'chemicals' that the body was not intended to accept.

Simple logic.........

Seems don't even have to state our case for the ridiculousness of "vaping"... the nightly news is stating if for us ...

So why take the chance, the vaping people that are dying are KIDS, not adults after fifty or sixty years of cigarettes. Why makes no sense, either one. How can anyone believe sucking chemicals and smoke into our lungs is healthy?

Some, it does not bother, apparently, at least yet - but I cannot imagine how any company got away with a patent and manufacturing a 'vaping stick'... let alone anyone buys it.

The manufacturer claim that 'it helps quit smoking', right, quit right after it kills you - that will make you stop smoking for sure.
