I’m not sure I’d Ford has approved Shell Rotella T 6 full synthetic oil for use in their 6.7 diesels yet . Can anyone verify if they have or not ?

How do the wet clutches like it?

I've been running regular rotella 10w40 in my truck and bike, but was thinking of giving the T6 a try.

I've been using T6 in our bikes and wheeler with wet clutches for years. Ran regular rotella in the the wheeler too. I believe both are still Jaso ma rated. But haven't bought the 15-40 Dino oil in a while.
I lost all the oil out of my YZ 450 snowbike at full throttle full load (don't ask....) and suffered no rotating assembly damage at all. Stuck the piston like a cold seize and galled the wrist pin a little (but not the rod thankfully).
Guess the oil was good!

I use the oil life monitor. With varied usage, the monitor will take that into consideration.

Sent samples to Blackstone Labs and they report that I could go much longer.

how often do you guys change the oil? ive been going every 5k, but thinking about pushing it out to 7500, although summer time coming and now is when my truck goes from commuter to parked/towing only.
I change oil and filter every 5k miles. At 5k miles it's always easy to keep track of when to change. That said I purchased a new Dodge in 84 and changed oil every 10k miles with Mobile One synthetic oil. I drove the truck for 10 years and 200k miles then sold the truck to a friend that drove it for another ten years before he sold it, he continued to use Mobile One every 10k. I still see the truck running around town.

my truck has never told me to change it I have just been doing it every 5k. My wifes car goes off about every 7-8k, I guess ill just keep going with every 5k miles.

Some say to go by your owners manual. I'm stuck in old school mentality and change every 5k regardless. Many would argue that this is a waste of $$, but to me it's my $$ and cheap insurance. Oil probly could go longer, I just choose not to. I change the oil in my 4 stroke snowmobile every fall even if the sled never ran once since previous fall.

Is the T6 with the new formula ok to use in older 7.3 Diesel engines or should I use a different oil? I have used the old T6 for years in my 7.3 but only have enough for one more oil change.

It's approved to use in your 7.3PSD. The oil to watch out for are the API ck4/sn dual rated for diesel and gas engines.

bike is a 2013 kawi 1400GTR, currently has 42k miles, never been opened and runs flawless. clutches are like day one, this is my commuter bike april to November. oil/filter every 5k miles
Quad is a 2013 canam outlander 1000, zero noises and runs like a beast. oil/filter twice a year.

Both rides are ridden hard, many people using T6 in both machines. Some guys on the Kawi C14 forum have over 100k miles running Rotella.
