Tape for window

Anyone know what size butyl tape I need to replace the window in my RV door?
It's the standard size so 3/4" or 1" and 1/8" or 3/16" thick?

Before installing/re-installing the frame, paint the exterior with a good grade of paint. I've had several fail over the years due to sun exposure. That, and I dislike seeing yellowing plastic.

I replaced our frosted glass with a clear unit not long after getting our new Sunseeker:



We had a bad blind spot with the frosted glass; and trying to depend on my co-pilot in the passenger seat was risky at times.

While parked, a simple mod with a modified pillow case obscures the view:

3/4 x 1/8 and sometimes double thickness.

I've always used the 3/4 x 1/8 and it works just fine.

The stuff I have always used was 3/4 wide and 1/8 thick. I have not seen 3/16 in. Even with 1/8 in after several days it will continue to squeeze out and needs to be re trimmed.

I used 1 inch and trimmed down excess. Surprized?...Lippert doors. Mine only 3 yrs old and re-did mine. I used "Winnebago window tape" and a ribbon of Dicor as "umbrella" protection and easier to inspect later.

I would go with the wider, and thicker. It can always be trimmed and compressed. Door and window openings are not that tight. The wider will squeeze come inside door frame area to make fit tighter. Thickness will help getting door to fit tight.
