New 2015 Lance 1172 Arrived!!!

Our new custom ordered Lance 1172 arrived this week at Ketelsen Campers of Denver, CO. While some may know we had a 2013, the changes Lance made over the past couple of years were enough for us to want to make the upgrade. While some may consider the modifications minor they were huge to me and I'm loving them!! This is our third Lance since 2009 and I can't say enough how nice and well put together this rig is!! From the electric awning, to the basement compartment in the rear of the camper, to the two factory installed solar panels we are really liking the new unit. We loved the layout of our 2013 1172, and the improvements were exactly what we said the unit needed in 2013 plus some!

Anyway, just wanted to put a shout out for anyone with a family who is looking for a large truck camper…this is a great model that could easily sleep a family of 5-6 comfortably (depending on ages of course). If anyone has any questions don't hesitate to ask and I'd be happy to give you my two cents.












Additionally, the 2011 Ram 3500 (with slight modifications) carried the new camper up to Rocky Mountain National Park today without a hitch. I was actually having no problem keeping up with cars heading up the mountain today, and really appreciated that exhaust brake coming down the mountains…allowing us to descend the 4k plus feet with minimal actual brake use. Despite the weight of this unit it is also sitting nice and flat on the truck.

I have a question on your ranch hand front bumper. Does it leave the under side of the radiator and lines exposed? Mine does there is no place to bolt the factory lower panels on. thank you, andy

The side of the couch (actually dual recliners) has the on/off button for the rear camera. The 1172 is limited on storage cabinets, compared to other models. But I imagine, you could check to see if they could eliminate the upper pantry and lower storage cabinet to custom a built-in couch.

For discount, the dealer we bought from had the exact same MSRP on another 2015 and they were giving a full 20% off, but shows a Rock Bottom Price button. Ours worked out to 18.9% for Rock Bottom and it was about $900 lower than the RV Show price.

We didn't have to special order our 2015 1172. Surprisingly, we got everything we wanted on it without having to order it. We've been stocking it for our first trip when we actually get to use it for 5 wks in June.

Found that the Rear camera has sound, but needs an outside switch so you don't have to put out the slide to turn switch on and off. The 1-95w solar panel works easily to keep the batteries full and the generator starts up as easily as the 6500w one on our Suite. Also found the Serta mattress is very hard to make when someone is trying to pull down the sheets at the bottom while you're pulling the corners over the top. We already added a 1.5" foam topper and a puffy mattress cover to help us get a good nights sleep.

Also found it rides much nicer than our 1999 Fleetwood Caribou used to on the 1999.5 F350. Hardly even remember it's in the bed, except when we look out the rearview mirrors.

Once we finish up in NE IN, we are heading to NM, so won't have time to take both the TC and the 5er with us. So we're debating if we want to do the return trip and keep it in NM for weekend trips. Decisions, Decisions...

CSG....yeah it's got a pretty serious price tag, but we considered it worth it given what all was on/in it! We love camping with our family and this is our one toy that the entire family can enjoy year round! It also makes traveling (which we do a lot of) much nicer! Of course in 1989 I was a Pvt and only made $8000 a year too:)!

Very nice camper but MSRP of $52k!?!? Day-um! When we bought our Lance Squire 4000 at the end of 1989, it was about $9500 and we thought *that* was expensive. 😉

This is the battery compartment under the stairs. Just got my two new 6volt batteries installed and set the controller to flooded cell batteries. Which is when I discovered another new feature that chargers the batteries on demand with an additional charge at 4.4 volts!!!!

Delta bravo...The large compartment in the rear (translated more organized storage)!!! But also bluetooth radio, battery compartment under step (easier to access 6v batteries to water), jack-knife couch, power awning, new slide mechanism for driver slide, coffee table by couch,, dual solar (custom ordered), new wireless controller, dual sliding drawers.
