well I though I have heard it all. WOW! sure hope you get this figured out. no pun intended this could be a big problem. I,d log this down call the dealer and report it. get names and dates. even report it to factory reps.

If I could not get this issue solved today I would not go to sleep with truck in garage without disconnecting the batteries.
Do you have a remote start? Could it have got a signal from your remote or another source?
A friend's car alarm kept going off. She would grab pistol, go check it out. Finally discovered the cat was playing with a lost set of keys.

Loved the cat story! LOL

But yeah, I would park that puppy outside or disconnect the battery. That is just too scary.

People pocket dial their phones all the time. Could the keys in someones pocket have remote started the truck?

I came out of Lowes the other day and my truck was running, and wondered how I managed to hit the start button twice in my back pocket.

I've got remote start on my Ford Escape. You have to hit the lock button first, then the start button 2 times within a few seconds for it to start. I'm not sure on it's range yet? Have not tested that.

But, one time I looked at my driveway camera and the back hatch was open. I did have the key fob in my pocket, but you have to hit that button 2 times too?

So, dunno...

Good luck! Mitch

There seems to be a lot of hacks to steal vehicles with remote start and ones with ON Star

Quick Google search found THESE

I have a 2019 Chevy Traverse with remote start and On Star and now I am going to look thru all of these my self.

I do Know that I have found Mine unlocked in the morning when I know I locked it at night,a ritual that is always followed. [emoticon]

A quick search shows this happening with Duramax. I would call the dealer and get it checked out.

Does the truck have remote start? If so did you or DW have a fob in a pocket or purse that may have gotten bumped.

If no remote start I would replace the ignition switch.
