It should be seen as a known issue, but this guy wants to drive a Nissan Leaf in Wyoming, and discovers it only takes 15 hours to go 178 miles.

While I am not anti EV, people (greenies & govt.) need to understand they are not for everyone and work in every situation. I read a similar story where the writer traveled from New Orleans to Chicago. They spent more time charging than they did sleeping.

Comical is an understatement.
To be clear, the majority of new EV’s sold would make that trip in one shot with range to spare with no charging. They took a short range commuter with slow recharge rate on a road trip. Go figure.
Oh, and when they do recharge it’s about 15 minutes to recharge that distance. Not 11 hours.

Exactly. There are short range EVs, mid range EVs, and long range EVs. All these stories prove is that people are buying EVs without doing any research into what they need nor are they making sure their purchase is appropriate for those needs.
This is really no different than the person who buys a 45ft motorhome and then whines that they can't get into their favorite fishing spots. Or the person who buys a massive 5er and doesn't make sure their truck can handle it.

Current LEAF has a range of 149 or 212 miles depending on battery option selected.

And it seems the author wants to travel on free charging as much as possible as mentioned using the Nissan dealer and an extension cord out his motel room window. One man's quest is another person's nightmare.

Or the person/s who repetitively make posts about irrelevant EVs which have no bearing on towing RV's or anything Rv related whatsoever, such as compact commuting cars and semi trucks, on a forum specifically for RV's. Now thats comical.

I think the more this is discussed, the better.
EVs are being pushed upon us as a replacement for ICEs. Many people will buy one thinking that it can do everything their car always has... Maybe a person is mainly a short distance commuter, but once in a while takes a roadtrip. This sort of person does not care how his car works, he just knows what it has always done for him/her.
The more the limitations are known, the more informed the public will become. And an informed public will make better decisions. About their purchases, and in the voting booth.
On this forum, we generally have enthusiests that become better informed about their passion. The general public is not being informed of the downsides by our Gov. or the people selling EVs.
So I say, keep discussing it, and not just here, everywhere. Get the entire story out there. The plusses, do not really need to be discussed, as the EV proponents are doing an excellent job getting their word out... The minuses need a lot of help to become known to the general public.
