I never use it for camping anymore and I only keep it cuz of my crappy power company. It will run the frig but the furnace is too fussy. Is there a device that will make it pure sine wave and will it then run the furnace?
Next ?… are all pure sine wave gens created equal so they will run this furnace or does it take a special model. Thanks, Craig

You may have to take an extra male plug and put a piece of 14 ga wire across the green (ground) and neutral (white), that's what I've been told. Then plug that into the generator while it's running.

It already is pure sine wave. What is the fuel source for this furnace? What happens when it fails to run it?

Has nothing to do with the fuel source, there's a brazillion posts if you google it, modern furnaces need a neutral/ground bond, if they don't have it, they won't work. A lot of the inverter genny's are not bonded, therefore you can use a "cheater" male plug with the neutral/ground wires bonded. They even sell them.

Make a plug like this: and plug it into one of the 120v receptacles on the generator..It will think it's grounded.

How long is the extension cord? Is the cord #12 or #10 wire?
I assume this is a furnace with a burner so mostly just running maybe a half HP fan motor.

I though the Honda EU-2000i Was PSW. if it's an older non inverter generator than the device to make it pure sine wave is ... Kind of expensive (Very expensive) a EU-3000i would be cheaper.
How big is the furnace's blower.. Good chance the starting current exceeds the generator's ability.
Home was where I park it. but alas the.

Furnace implies it burns fuel. Otherwise it would be an electric heater and 2000w is no where close to enough for a whole house electric heating system.
As others have mentioned, it's nothing to do with the sine wave but with the grounding.
