It makes you feel better without really doing anything. Well, it will give you a video record that you can keep like a diary so you can go back and review and feel bad again. The police can't and won't do anything with it unless someone is murdered. If you want to do something, buy a few of the cheapest exterior cameras you can find and mount them conspicuously around the house; no need to connect them. Then buy signs that say video security system installed. There are plenty available on Amazon. That should be enough to move the thieves to a different house, and you have no ongoing costs. We were able to use the recording to identify an intruder in an out building. The system is relatively inexpensive, simple to maintain, and our police do not require a murder to conduct an investigation. That alone will scare off some intruders. We have a built-in home system but recently installed Blink cameras for the house. Very pleased with both set-ups. Getting ready to add some Blink cameras inside the barn.
