Does anyone know of any rental companies that would rent a tow vehicle for a 5th wheel? My cousin is stuck in Fillmore, UT because his diesel truck had water in the system. His truck might be out of commission for a bit and he is missing out on his vacation to Yellowstone. The local mechanic is not able to fix it so he is towing it to the Chevy dealership in Delta Utah. In hope of salvaging his trip, I was wondering if there are any companies who rent tow vehicles for a 5th wheel? Thanks in advance.

This seems a little too optimistic. But worth a try.

Or this one apparently in Salt Lake City.

Google is your friend.

My daughter is a senior claims agent for a major car rental firm and I asked her about this. She says no major rental company permits this and if you do tow you would be in violation of the contract and if you have an accident then Katy bar the door. You would 100% responsible for all damages.
Strangely, they do rent HD trucks. And why would you need an HD truck except to tow or maybe haul heavy stuff in the bed.

I have not checked clearance issues, center of 5th wheel/mudflap compared to kingpin/center of step down part of trailer but it might work. Also need a car for family

You don't say what year his trailer is but I have found that the new trucks are too tall for the older trailers so if his trailer is pre 2010 or so it might not work with the newer trucks.

I used Enterprise truck rental when mine was in the shop, but they did not have one with a gooseneck ball, only 3/4 ton with bumper 2" ball.

Not true across all brands. My 2006 Sandpiper and my 2018 Cardinal towed fine with the 2007 Ford DRW and our 2018 Ford DRW.

We have rented from Enterprise Truck rental and got a gooseneck ball. The kind used on most horse trailers not campers.

Maybe try one of the car rental places where you rent from the owner. I can't think of the name we used them in Bryce Canyon.

I tried to find a truck to haul my gooseneck as I have 2 trailers and 1 truck and needed to take both to an event in another state. I could not find any rentals that allow towing a trailer in the bed. I finally found a friend to drive and tow one of my trailers. I did not search for private rentals but found anything even close the rates were too high. You might try renting an RV or just staying in hotels.
