I wasn't much impressed: the picture was worse than a 1950s TV. At Voyager's suggestion, I replaced the camera, which improved the picture marginally; but I'm now wondering two things: 1. If I replace the monitor (which presumably dates from 2007 or so, and offers a black and white picture), am I likely to get an improved view? 2. Or could the problem be in the cable? And is there a way to test the signal quality coming to the monitor without spending lots of money? It powers from the marker lights. They sent it to our next campground. Bill Nodwell RN110 out moose hunting. 4-53 Detroit, Clark 5 spd, 40" wide tracks, 10:00x20 tires, 16,000# capacity, 22,000# weight. You know the mud is getting deep when it's coming in the doors. The backup monitor isn't good and wants something very clear. He already ordered a new set of tires from 4Wheelonline and will be installed this weekend so we'll do the interior mods next week. They do NOT require batteries (which sounds like it was your concern). Very reasonably priced and a fairly easy DIY install if you are handy. Here are two styles I have used... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08H1WZSK9 (gets power from your license plate lightbulb) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078PDH6Z8 (gets power from your up top running lights) (I post as examples...you can find many different companies with similar products) You can search for different sized monitors to your liking as well. The monitor mounts wherever you want it on your dash with double sided tape and is powered by your cigarette lighter socket. Let me know if you have any questions about install. Happy backing up!
