That’s interesting, Deb. I have a partially used bottle of saw palmetto, but hadn’t seen any results (perhaps I needed to use it longer). In my usual fashion, I did some investigating of the product and most sites found it was pretty useless for prostate issues.
At this time, I’m taking a vit D3 supplement (1,000 IU daily), as prescribed, which may be helping. A blood test showed me deficient in that vitamin since I don’t get outside much, being handicapped.
I find my stream is very weak in the morning right after arising, but improves substantially during the day, so I’m not hurting too badly at this time. I usually don’t get up at night to urinate, either. A friend of mine had advanced Prostate cancer. He took Wheat Grass power daily mixed in a drink and within six months his cancer had gone. I was skeptical so I read about "Wheat grass & prostate cancer". Seems to be a lot of positive articles on the topic. Many of the people who do not have health ailments take Wheat grass. They claim it provides energy. I tried it myself for my own health reason and found it benefited me. Every individual is different. What works for one does not work for everyone. I talked about wheat grass to my urologist and he says although it is not in medical journals he did hear good results. It was my chiropractor who suggested wheat grass to me. I buy Microingredients Organic Wheat grass power, $16 from Amazon 10 oz. Not as expensive as some wheat grass but has great reviews. It is not the best tasting when mixed with anything. I feel like I chewed grass. Each to their own choice what works for them.

I have an enlarged prostate but fortunately not prostate cancer. I had a Prostate Artery Embolization. It was a simple procedure. I laid on a Xray table, they shot some die into my prostate to track the arteries feeding it, then they put some kind of tiny particles into the arteries to reduce the blood flow & kill off parts of the prostate reducing the pressure.
I got immediate relief.

Wow, I've never heard of that condition before! Glad you got relief, and non-surgical, too. i wouldn't mind if my prostate miraculously just disappeared. another possibility would be the UROlift device, and or the PAE. the literature claims TURPS is the "gold STANDARD" but I consider it barbaric compared to these other procedures. I get my generic saw palmetto from Amazon, much cheaper than those brand named ones.
Don't know if terazosin has been discussed here but I have been taking that for years.

the EuroLift involves no cutting and supposedly shorter recovery times but my urologist says the prostate has to be no larger than a certain size and of a certain shape.

Well as I said the drugs the urologist had me on seemed to make a major improvement.
And then we did a outpatient surgical proceduure Uro-lift.. and that .. Well technically I'm still in recovery but let me tell you life is about 95% back to normal.
What is Urolift? This is actually a very poor description of it but there are a set of 'Clips' they slide in to the uretha where itpasses past the prostrate..they basically work like a catheter would to keep open. however they are 100% internal.. and except for the rare case where there are complications they are "non-reactive" so side effects are basically.. NOT. You do not notice it at all.. all you notice is increased flow and full emptying of the bladder like you were .... younger... again. (No sexual side effects either they tell me.. Do not ask me to verify that).
One "Side" effect... post recovery I lost about 10 pounds.. and noticed a reduction in edema in my legs (where the 10 pounds came from) My THEORY (Which I will ask about at next Urologist visit) with the bladder empty. Kidneys working better.
In short that's a side BENEFIT.
