OK what specific RV were these on? Sorry but you are exaggerating if you truly have stepped on THIS exact model and brand.

I do agree that the typical OE installed steps are NOT solid at all.

It's obvious, you aren't going to be convinced no matter what, so I'm not going over to my friends to get the make and model number for you.

Not the same, and only 3 step, but here is a pic of my steps. Yes they are LCI steps, and very sturdy/well made, with no-slip surface. My current FW has a lot of Lippert products, and I have no complaint on quality of their products.

That is the same steps I had on my previous fifth wheel , and had no problem with them. I have the torxlift now ,and do not like them , my wife likes them even less. I never seem to get them as level as I would like , although they have the two adjustments where they are attached , and the legs are adjustable. If I adjust them to lower setting ,then they give you a longer step coming out then we like . If I put them in the upper setting the first step is okay ,but then I can't get the steps level with the adjustment feet at the bottom . All the steps have a slight slant to them.

They are not bad enough to change out ,but if had the opportunity to go back to your style ,the previous ones I had I would . IMO with the height of my trailer , its in-between needing one more step . It has four steps, which is not enough , but five would be too many.

I would never recommend the torxlift to anyone , they are just not that great, unless the height ,and adjustment were just perfect . I would take yours or 12V's any day again. If I was to go full-time those torxlift would go ,and be changed out to the old style that are suspended . We just seem to put up with them with the amount of time we use the trailer .

I think the biggest issue is the 4 step models as they didn't seem to make them any stronger. But fortunately mine are VERY solid. Not cheap but ya hopefully get what ya pay for.

I have yet to see anybody make steps that are more comfortable, more convenient and as sturdy as the good old fashioned steel folding steps.

Lantley is correct, these new steps improve the manufacturing process by eliminating the framed step box, they do nothing for us RVers.

The ones that 12V98 has look good also.

Structurally they are the same as what came on the RV. When I smashed the OE I saw that the aluminum tread model was available. No brainer to me!!!
