My son has decided it's up to me to pick out a song for us to dance to at his wedding next year. I am looking for suggestions. Song should be "waltzable" but open to other thoughts.


I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be Douglas Adams

RV-less for now but our spirits are still on the open road.

Hmmm, I guess the "Chicken Dance" is out if you want "waltzable", so here's a few I've heard at various weddings:

"You Raise Me Up" by Josh Groban

"Unforgettable" by Nat King and Natalie Cole

“Do I make you proud” by Taylor Hicks

“A Mother’s Song” by Daniel Kirkley

The first one that came to me was "You Light Up My Life". Debbie Boone sang it. - You Light Up My Life

My nephew is getting married soon and my sister drives me crazy because of all this wedding preparation. Fortunately, she finally chose that very princessly dress and a suit for her son. But now she wants me to help her with the mother/son wedding song. So, thanks for the recommendations. I hope Ed Sheeran will be a perfect choice.

Can't stand Ed Sheeran. The wedding was in May and we used "I Hope You Dance" by Lee Ann Womack. It brought everyone to tears. I think they were tears of laughter, though, because he kept stepping on my feet!
