Watkins Glen KOA

So we stayed here over this past w/e and overall had a good time. Weather was nice, chilly a couple of times, but colors and fire made up for it. Pretty much full house.

What was interesting was that when we inquired as to what the rates were in area we have stayed in before over same timeframe and where were were at this w/e. We were thinking perhaps next year at another CG (basically 1/2 price, FH and a threaded sewer cap this KOA doesn't have any). So we ask about the site we were on already and was told that it was already reserved for same time next year! Struck us odd that you would think that current "renters" of site would've had 1st dibs for next year.

We were at a similar popular KOA in NY and the same thing. Seems they will not hold any same site for any period of time for the next year, first come first serve. I should mention we did make the mistake of waiting 2 days into our stay before we tried rebooking for the next year. We ended up moving our stay back for a week for 21.

I don't see things getting any better in the coming yrs..

We've been to the Watkins Glen KOA also, we enjoyed our stay

You were there for a weekend, but perhaps the previous renters reserved the site for a week or two that included the time you wanted.

I just went to their web site and put in Nov of 2021 for an arrival date, this came up "Sorry, the latest date you can make a reservation for is 1/1/2021."

Nope. You sell what you have to the first person willing to pay your price.
