Dental work in Mexicali

Anyone who has gone to Mexicali for dental work, please share: where did you park your rv in Calexico? What dentist did you visit? How did you get from the border to the dentist? How was the border crossing? Anything else I need to know?

it depends on who greets you at the border parking lot ticket booth. one of therm told us that it costs extra to stay in the overnight area, another told us to just park in the overnight area for the daily fee, because they never check. to play it safe, we stayed at the casino then drove to the daily parking lot. lots of folks were leaving their trailers during the day at the casino.

Yes, or drive anywhere else. $10 I believe.

$7 for car, $8 for RV. I asked last month at the entrance and they said you can stay overnight in the parking lot with the rig. This is different than some recent posts.

zhidoni, glad everything went well. Hard to beat. After the first of January, when the crowd gets larger, it will be busier than a one-armed paper hanger.

While I don't have a problem walking into Algodones from a security point at his time be aware and check the current status. Baja California which includes Algodones is Exercise Increased Caution. Just be aware.

My experience with Sani Dental in Algodones, MX was quite good. The dentist who did my crown and fillings was as good as any i have had in the states. The facility is like any you would see in the US. I recommend doing your research. Check Yelp reviews; they are more trustworthy than Google reviews.
Algodones is a small border town. most dental offices are a very short walk from the crossing.

Ok I know a lot of people go to Mexican dentists, my question is are they as good as U.S. dentists? I want a "painless" dentist (as much as possible) and I want quality work with good sanitization practices?

Indeed it is! In the casino parking lot right now and it's quite chilly for 3 PM!

zhidoni, if you are going to downtown Algodones in the AM, wear a heavy jacket, it is cool down there in the AM!

The area north of I-8 where there is always some RVs parked is BLM Land. As far as Quechan being safe, no problem.

We've never seen anything at the casino CG to raise a red flag. Not sure how often security checks etc. but there are other RVs around. Good for her to ask.

Our schedule changed and we were there today - read on. 1.5 miles to the border parking lot. $6 car, $8 RV (I think) and something about getting permission. The gate money collector said you can stay overnight in the RV - To be clear this is the border parking lot. Maybe that is a future option for us.

Walked in got the meds and out at 2:00, no line.

My hats off to DW as it's good to be concerned. There were several RVs on the north side of I-8 and don't know about that area.

I think there is an effort to make your visit there safe. I did see one armed (Mexican) person today and last year 2 directly across the US return entry with some big guns during my 45 minute wait.

BTW No doggies today and they ignore us anyway or maybe we just thing they do.

Got some meds today from the Purple Pharmacy, never bought alcohol from the Purple Liquor store but decided to buy a belt today. He said they are part of the Purple group. Who would know?
