This is the third place I've seen it now, all from different origins.

Someone staged this for Internet fame.

Putting 10-ply tires on half ton trucks since aught-four.

Looks like something a couple of guys came up with over a few beers while camping. I'll bet it's a flatbed trailer with no weight on it.

Holy smokes. And heโ€™s even doing it with the horrible GM receiver used on the GMT800 series trucks. Honestly Iโ€™d love to watch a video of that going down the road to see how much it flexes.

I always thought these TWO Goobers had the price.......

towing 5vr backwards using a ball hitch

OR towing a 5vr with gooseneck on the Tailgate

BUT Golly that should get the Darwin Award hands down
Is it time for your medication or mine?

Well, when that guy gets a Patton on his design and it starts selling, and he makes a few million dollars and then retires, I suppose the rest of us will just be left scratching our heads! :h

Just off the top of my head without calculating anything I would guess if he has a Duramax under the hood and he floors it in low gear going up a bit of a hill he could get his front wheels to lift off the ground.... likely equivalent to putting about 12,000 lbs on a regular ball. I'm thinking something could break.

Free Body Diagram wouldn't be difficult... but stress analysis could be a bit more challenging

We could start a pool on where the first failure will occur.

"Trying to calc the stresses..."! In addition to the static forces while just parked, think about what happens while bouncing up and down at highway speed. The forces are greatly increased with every bump.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!

As an engineer, trying to calc the stresses and strain on that....uh, contraption, well, it just explodes one's mind.

Safety, safety, safety....let's hope no one gets hurt.
