We've been in the new house a year and we've heard we should seal our countertops this year. Or maybe next year. Or possibly 2 years from now. How often do they really need to be sealed? Pretty sure the installer told us every one-to-two years (not helpful!) is the rule. Any thoughts on what type/brand of sealer to use? Thanks!

I do it whenever I think about it. Which is usually no more than once a year. It’s very easy and not too time consuming. I use something I picked up at Bed Bath and Beyond, but I don’t remember the name. It seems to work fine. The process is similar to waxing a car.

We use 3M granite cleaner. About every 2 weeks
If you get water stains around sink faucets a razor blade will clean most of it off.

Having granite countertops for years I admit this is the first time I have ever heard of this. I thought the whole point of granite is no maintenance. I mean it's cut and polished rock. I don't do a thing to ours and it seems fine.

Google sealing granite counter tops for the reasons its recommended to add a sealer once a year.
Brand sealer. Both of my instalers say just use a good brand.
