I hope. Off for a two week jaunt. Only a week in the state but that will see me over the mountinais and exploring several craft breweries along the way. The Seattle...more craft places.

If you see the white 4x4 C...wave hi, eh...

Deciduous trees stop producing chrophyll when the day length or photoperiod shortens. Then the colors in the leaves can be revealed. Temperature does not have much to do with it.

Try crossing SR20 over the North Cascades Highway, Mazama, Winthrop, Twisp all should be colorful and make great stops.

20 is one of my all time favorite drives. This was a drive to Settle via a different route than usual.

Tumwater Canyon looked great this morning with the cloud cover.

Hotjag1...were you meaning Tumwater or Icicle Canyon? I did Icicle yesterday, Wed., and that ir oretty cool. Tumwater was where I started out, then got thinking...this cn't be right...not very very colourful. Turned about and spent the day.

For anyone that has border crossing concerns....Monday morning, crossing at Oroville, get the usual Agriculture inspection. Pull over to the left and wait for the agent.

Agent finally saunters over...holds up the passport and observes..."you don't look much like this anymore" as he gives me my passport. ร€s I hand it back..`because that`s not mine`.

The agent in the kiosk had given my passport to another driver and they were long gone. Long story short...they knew the other driver and knew he`d be back sometime in the day. I was released into the US and I overnighted up on the Similkameen. Got it back this morning at 9am.

That's a beautiful state even without the fall colors.

I wonder though why you'll be amazed with WA.

You are from BC where I bet, it's more colorful come autumn, lol.

I find the fall colors here quite beautiful. No need to travel to Canada to see them.

You'll be happier staying where you are. Travel has a tendency to broaden one's horizons.

We drove through Tumwater Canyon on the east end of Steven's Pass this morning and lots of trees are turning orange, red, and yellow now. Only a few campers in the Lake Wenatchee area today, so nice and quiet.

We don't get the range of colours in B.C that easterners are accustomed to, our forests are primarily coniferous. Having said that, the yellow aspen against a blue sky and snow capped peaks is a gorgeous sight.

We are not seeing fall colours yet which is surprising.
